The Manufacturing Process

Inspection and Mold Preparation

Our skilled technicians hand-craft design molds, laying the foundation for your pool.
A thorough inspection of the swimming pool shell mold ensures the highest standards of quality.

Gel Coat Application

The form is prepped, and a specially formulated gel-coat is applied as the interior finish. Our gel-coat, meeting our exacting standards, provides the optimal choice for a durable and appealing pool surface. Built-in slip resistance on the pool bottom and steps enhances safety.

Epoxy Barrier Coat

To protect against moisture and reinforce the pool finish, we apply a modified epoxy barrier coat. This coat not only provides strength but also increases the elasticity (flexibility) of the pool shell.

Critical Point Lamination Process

Hand-laid layers of composite materials, using sheet fiberglass fabric, are meticulously applied for each pool. Unlike industry standards, our process places building material across the pool from side to side, eliminating the need for additional supports during installation.

Reinforcement of Side Walls

After main fabrication, our expert team reinforces side walls and coping or the top rim of the pool, ensuring structural integrity.

Final Assembly

The completed pool is carefully removed from the mold and outfitted with your selected package. Sunset Fiberglass Pools are shipped complete, with pool, light housings, plumbing fittings, tile, and waterfalls already factory-placed. This pre-assembly at the factory not only ensures quality but also saves valuable installation time, bringing your dream pool closer to reality.
